Botany at Farm School NYC

Botany at Farm School NYC

Tonight I had my first Botany class through Farm School NYC. So far, the class seems amazing, and my fellow classmates all have such interesting stories and backgrounds, some already inside the food, education and agriculture community, and others, like me, looking to get more involved. Uli Lorimer, Brooklyn Botanic Garden's curator of native plants, is the class instructor. The class itself (and full Farm School curriculum) is deeply rooted in educating and training the community about Food and Social Justice issues. I'm pretty excited to learn more and get to know this community. It definitely feels like a step in the right direction to contributing to something important in NYC and any urban area, for that matter.

I'll keep you posted with how it goes!
